WORLD CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION FOR EFL TEACHERS

LESSON PLANNING WORKSHOP

With globalization and striking changes particularly in such areas as technology and science, all domains of life have inevitably undergone a transformation, and today the whole world has become “nothing but a global village”. This new world necessitates World Citizenship Education (WCE) which aims to cultivate learners of all ages who make an active and committed contribution  in order to build more peaceful, tolerant, inclusive and secure societies. To raise their students as world citizens who can think critically, function effectively and positively in the rapidly changing world, offering WCE inset to teachers has become crucial.

After providing theoretical knowledge base for WCE to EFL teachers in our previous training, we will give the teachers opportunities to produce WCE-based lesson plans for their own educational contexts in this workshop.

If you have participated in the WCE training before, you are welcome to be a part of this workshop. If you have not participated in the relevant training before, you can participate in this workshop only if you watch the training videos uploaded to the system at https://istanbulakademi.meb.gov.tr/moodle/course/view.php?id=84
