This training is a media literacy–focused professional development program designed for English language teachers. It aims to support teachers in critically engaging with digital and traditional media texts and in using media content effectively within English language teaching contexts.

Throughout the program, participants will explore news texts, social media content, and audio-visual materials in terms of language use, message structure, and reliability. Practical classroom applications will be emphasized, with examples of how media literacy can be integrated into ELT lessons to enhance students’ reading, listening, viewing, and critical thinking skills.

The training approaches media literacy as a component of communication skills, language awareness, and digital competence, and provides teachers with practical strategies and classroom-ready activities that can be directly applied in their teaching practice.

We invite English language teachers to approach media content with greater awareness and a critical perspective. Through the analysis of diverse media forms—such as news, social media posts, and advertisements—participants will develop the ability to better understand the messages conveyed and the purposes behind them.
